Chair Recruitment

Communications & External Relations

The Communications team is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of LSTM’s reputation on an international level. The small, specialist team works closely with the academic teams, Fundraising and Education to promote the full range of LSTM’s work; from lab-based science through to the development of health interventions in the field, cementing the institution’s role within global health as well as mission to train the next generation of global health leaders.

As LSTM moves towards its 125th anniversary in 2023 there is an opportunity for this role and the team to support LSTM’s strategic plan to increase research income while expanding student numbers and the education portfolio, future proofing LSTM as it looks towards the next 125 years of global health. Working closely with Fundraising, Communications and External Relations will be central to the delivery of a varied programme of events to celebrate the anniversary both within the UK and at hubs worldwide.

The pandemic meant that the expertise of LSTM was showcased to a much broader audience, with teams working across therapeutics, diagnostics and vaccine development within the UK as well as continuing to advocate for equity of health care globally. Building upon this momentum, Communications and External Relations will be responsible for communicating LSTM’s direction of travel in the next phase of its future development.
