Internal Communications Manager
As the first institution of its kind in the world, dedicated to education and research in tropical diseases, it’s an exciting time to join LSTM as we enter our 125th anniversary year in 2023. We have a bold ambition to build upon our existing strengths and research activities, both in the UK and overseas, and developing and educating the global health leaders of the future is at the heart of our plans. We have just released our new strategy and engaging meaningfully with our staff and supporters will be critical to realising that ambition.
We are investing in a number of new roles as part of our transformation to a new External Relations team and are looking for a new Internal Communications Manager who will lead the development and delivery of a data-informed, integrated internal communications and staff and student engagement strategy to support LSTM’s ambitions.
On a day-to-day basis, the Internal Communications Manager will work closely with colleagues from HR and External Relations as well as across LSTM, with staff both in the UK and internationally. You will curate and create content, manage LSTM’s intranet and internal engagement channels as well as developing campaigns to engage staff and supporters. You will also work with our Education team to develop strategies and plans to engage our diverse student body.
A key part of this role will involve providing professional expertise and support for colleagues across LSTM as well as ensuring we have engaging and effective channels, systems and processes are in place for maximum impact.
You will bring:
- A strong track record in internal communications and staff engagement, ideally from working in a large and complex organisation, Higher Education experience is desirable
- Experience of delivering effective and engaging staff and/or student engagement campaigns and activities which deliver business impact
- Background in establishing, managing and continually evaluating internal communications channels to drive engagement and action
- Passion, creativity and a desire to make a positive impact
